LSF Part 7: Sophomore Year

July 26, 2010 by Dan

There’s not a lot that I can say about sophomore year of high school. It was basically the same as freshman year as far as I can remember, with the main difference being that I was picked on even more within my own small little circle of friends. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s My Birthday!

July 22, 2010 by Dan

Hello everybody today’s post is very special. Well, actually it’s not really. But I feel like it’s special, because I just turned 18. That’s right, if you didn’t get that off of the post title, then let me confirm that, it is my birthday today.

LSF Part 6: Freshman Year

July 19, 2010 by Dan

Freshman year of high school was better than middle school I suppose, but not by much. Everyone was still very insecure and prone to picking on people; I was still unusually short, and a smart ass to boot. Furthermore, freshman year didn’t turn out to be all it was cracked up to be. I had assumed I would get electives, but in fact, my three elective periods were taken up by a mandatory P.E. class, mandatory health and computer classes, and Spanish I. Land of Five Dollar Water: A Six Flags Adventure

July 8, 2010 by Dan

It being summer, my friends and I naturally came to the conclusion that we should go to Six Flags: Magic Mountain. This is the story of that adventure.

LSF Part 4: It’s Those Portables in the Back

July 5, 2010 by Dan

Canalino, where I attended kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades only went as far as 2nd grade, so after I finished that, it was time to go to a new school. All of my friends were enrolled in either Main, or Aliso School (depending on their location), as those were the two public schools in town that had 3rd through 6th grades. Not me though; no, my parents decided that they wanted me to get a better education. I was sent to the newly opened Howard Carden School, and so began three years of hell. (Okay, I’m exaggerating just a little, but I really didn’t like it there.)

LSF Part 3: A Kinda Crappy Story

July 1, 2010 by Dan

So in the last LSF post, I alluded to something that Casey and I did in first grade, but didn’t say what it was. This is the story of that event. Let me start off by advising my readers to not try this at home, or for that matter anywhere (although I really don’t know why the heck anyone would want to). But enough dancing around it, on to the actual story (wherein I still won’t reveal what actually happened for a while (building suspense and all that, you know the drill)).

New Schedule

June 30, 2010 by Dan

Well everyone, so far I’ve kinda just put up a new blog post whenever I felt like it. This lack of deadlines has often caused, or at least contributed to the long periods of no new posts. Also I imagine it’s a bit annoying to not know when to expect the next post and having to just check randomly.

With this in mind, I have decided to institute a schedule. From now on, I will update the blog with a new post twice a week. New posts will appear on Mondays and Thursdays each week. I promise will try very, very hard to keep up and not miss my own deadlines. I hope this is appreciated, and thanks to everyone who has kept on reading this blog even though I’ve been so sporadic in my posts.

See you tomorrow,

~Dan
PS: While I’m making addressing my readers, I would just like to say that I really wanna hear from all you guys. Judging from how many hits this site has I know there are a good number of people reading it, but I never get to hear from any of you. So please, leave comments. Tell me what you think of my stories. What do you want to hear more about; what do you want to hear less about? If there is anything you want to say, please say it. I’d really love to hear from all of you. Thanks.

The Girl Who was Afraid of a Chicken: An Iceblocking Escapade

June 26, 2010 by Dan

The night began like most of mine have this summer, with some friends and I sitting around and wondering what to do. The cast of the day consisted of Scott, Travis, Charlie, Jay, David, Sydney, and myself. It was Scott’s Birthday (Happy birthday Scott!) and he had just come back from Hooters restaurant, where he’d been taken by his sister since it was his eighteenth birthday. Now however, the festivities had ended, and Scott was just hanging out with his friends. In fact, he even made us grilled cheese sandwiches. (and they were friggin delicious!)
